Welcome to Matrix Cipher, a game designed to sharpen your mind and enhance your problem-solving skills. Playing Mastermind (The classical name) has been shown to improve logical reasoning, pattern recognition, and critical thinking. Many studies suggest that it can boost cognitive functions, decision-making, and memory, offering a fun way to keep your brain agile.
Game Objective:
Your ultimate objective is to successfully crack a secret 4-digit numeric code. And you have a maximum of 10 attempts to decipher and crack this secret code. The code uses digits 1 through 6. By using logical deduction and carefully analyzing the feedback provided after each of your guesses, you must decipher the code exact sequence of numbers to win the game!
How to Play:
As a Codebreaker, you will make a series of code guesses. After each guess, the system will provide feedback using green and yellow pegs, so that you analyse and deduct your next code attempt.
Feedback System:
Green peg : Each green peg means you've got a right number in the right position.
Yellow peg : Each yellow peg means you've got a right number but in the wrong position.
The arrangement of the feedback pegs does not correspond to the exact positions in your guess. They only indicate counts of correct/partial matches.
Example Guesses and Feedback:
Let's walk through an example. Suppose the secret code is:
1
2
3
4
Guess 1:

Controls and Navigation:
You have several intuitive ways to input your guesses and navigate the game board:
Click or Drag from Number Pad: Click on any number button (1-6) from the bottom number pad to place it into the currently selected slot. You can also click, drag and drop numbers from the number pad directly into any active slot.
Copy from Previous Rows:
Click: Simply click on a number in any previously guessed row to instantly copy its value to the same column in your current active guess row.
Drag & Drop: Drag a number from a previous row and drop it onto an active slot in your current row to copy it.
Keyboard Input:
You can Use your computer Numpad keys 1-6 to quickly input values into the selected slot.
Use the Left Arrow (◀) and Right Arrow (▶) keys to navigate between the slots in your current guess row.
Press the [Enter] key to check your current guess.
"Generate" Button: Available only for the first guess, this button will automatically fill your first guess with a random combination of four unique numbers. This can give you a quick starting point!
Navigation Modes (Nav:Auto/Manual/Next):
Auto: Automatically moves the cursor to the next empty slot after you input a number.
Manual: You control the cursor movement entirely with the arrow keys.
Next: Moves the cursor to the next slot regardless of whether it's empty or not.
"Check" Button: Once you've filled all four slots in your current guess, click the "Check" button to submit your guess and receive feedback.
"Repetition" Button: Toggles whether numbers in the secret code can be repeated or must be unique.
Timer Feature:
Add an extra layer of challenge! Try to crack the code before time runs out.
Set a timer from 1 to 10 minutes, or play without a time limit (OFF).
The timer display changes color to indicate urgency:
Green: Normal
Yellow: 90 seconds left
Orange: 60 seconds left
Red: 30 seconds left
Repetition Setting:
Before starting the game, you can toggle the "Repetition" setting (initially set to "Off"):
Repetition Off: The secret code will contain 4 different, unique numbers.
Example: 5316
Repetition On: The secret code may contain repeated numbers, making it more challenging! Possible patterns include:
